Library Cards

To apply for a Library Card at Ellenville Public Library & Museum, you must live in the Ellenville School District, the Town of Wawarsing or Rochester, and be able to verify permanent residency with one of the following: a voter registration card; adrivers license with current address; or, 2 utility bills, a report card or photo ID with current address. For a child to get a card, a parent or guardian must have a library card, and agree to be responsible for all materials the child borrows. Please call us at (845) 6475530 with any questions. Ellenville Public Library Patron Policies

 

Residents of the Ellenville School District, Towns of Rochester and Wawarsing

You will need to present your card whenever you wish to borrow anything from the library. If you forget your card, we will hold the book or books selected for 48 hours.

Your RCLS card is supplied at no charge. We will require payment of a $2.00 fee for replacement of a lost or stolen card. Your RCLS library card is valid in any Ramapo Catskill Library System library. For a complete list of member libraries, please click the RCLS logo, and then click on the "Member Libraries" tab.

 

Each registered patron, including children, may borrow four audiovisual items (videos/DVDs) upon presentation of an RCLS card. Videos and DVDs are checked out for 7 days with no renewals. They must be returned on the seventh day before closing time.

 

New fiction books are loaned for two weeks with no renewals. All other books and audio books will be checked out for three weeks (21 days) with the option of one renewal, provided there are no holds on those books or special circumstances limiting their circulation.

 

Magazines are checked out for 7 days, with a limit of 5 magazines per adult library card, 2 magazines per juvenile card with no renewals.

 

By registering your child for a library card, you have accepted full responsibility for all use of that card, including the type of materials borrowed. The library will not limit your child's use of the card. We recommend family use of the library, especially with young children. We ask your cooperation in helping us make this a library that is a welcoming place for everyone. 

 

Mid Hudson Library System Patrons who are Ulster County Residents

You will need to present your card whenever you wish to borrow anything from the library. If you forget your card, we will hold the book or books selected for 48 hours.

Your RCLS card is supplied at no charge. We will require payment of a $2.00 fee for replacement of a lost or stolen card.

 

Your RCLS card is valid only in the Ulster County area of the Ramapo Catskill Library System. That includes Ellenville Public Library, Cragsmoor Free Library, Walkill Public Library and Gardiner Library. Checkout of materials is limited to 10 items at any one time, and no holds are permitted.
