About Terwilliger House
A late nineteenth century Queen Anne Victorian house
built in 1895 by George Deyo, Terwilliger House is the perfect setting for Ellenville Public Library & Museum’s local history collection. This outstanding collection includes artifacts from Ellenville Glass Works and stoneware from Ellenville Pottery, as well as products of industries that flourished in the heyday of the Delaware and Hudson Canal. Glass plate negatives, historic postcards, oral history CDs, and research files containing articles, ephemera and photographs make EPL&M’s museum holdings a community treasure trove.
Vision Statement
“The Museum of the Ellenville Public Library & Museum will be the repository and custodian of local history and artifacts, which will strengthen communal bonds, foster exploration and discovery of our shared heritage, enhance imagination and provide inspiration for the future.”
